Why did you choose to train with the Active Health Group?
"After several weeks of searching on the interent and chatting to different training companies, I chose AHG. I had searched courses in UK, and Belgium. With AHG, I found that they had good accreditations, good subject coverage, and I felt the part home-study, part practical, and part case study format suited me. With this set up I was able to work at home on assignments and continue with my job at the same time. It was important that the course was not all home-study because I wanted to learn the practical skills properly, and interact with others in the sports therapy field."
When you were searching for training was your alternative option if you couldn't have trained with us?
"My alternative option was a three year Sports Therapy course in the UK. It looked like a good course however it was long, expensive and not helpful with having a young family."
Did we fulfill what you expected to learn and achieve?
"I was not sure what exactly I was going to learn, or how I was going to learn it. Having finished of the course, I was very happy in what I had learnt, and feel great in being confident in applying the skills professionally. The scenario days are a great help, they allowed me to use the techniques that I had learnt from AHG."
How did you feel about booking on to a course in a different country? Did you have any difficulties/worries about coming to the UK?
"I was a little anxious because I felt helpless if something went wrong with payments or if I felt the standard was not to my liking. I researched who had accredited the course, what subjects were taught, compared it against other schools, and asked for advise from those around me. After this research and once I made contact with Richard (when I heard him talk about wanting to make this a great experience for me and the dedication to good quality training AHG has) I felt at ease. I also felt more and more confident as I received my books, and assignments."
Did The Active Health Group offer enough support in your enrolment or do you think we could have offered more support?
"AHG gave me enough support about the assignments, the names of the books that were coming."
Would you recommend other people travel to us to the UK to do the training or do you feel your alternative training could have been a better option?
"I highly recommend going to the UK and studying with AHG Adv Dip Sports Therapy. I learnt a lot with AHG and the course taught me well, I felt well supported by the staff and other class mates, and was really pleased to hear that there were opportunities to work in the clinic."
What could we have done to improve your stay?
"AHG supported me very well during my stay. I would have liked further information on my information on: school hours, an itinerary, what books to bring."
Did you feel safe in the UK? Were you happy with the hotel and location?
"I was raised in Manchester and was very comfortable going back home and taking part in the course with other colleagues in the Bradford area."
Did you enjoy the course?
"Yes, yes, I really enjoyed the course." "I thought that the school location, and rooms, the variety of subjects, the opportunities in the clinic, notification of other jobs, information on insurance, and the staff were all of great quality."
How can we help to support you once you return home and set up in business. Or how did we support you in setting up?
"The forum setup is great to contacting other people who have done the course and have started their own businesses. I would like to continue to know about the workshops\courses offered, newsletters, and be involved in discussions or debates about topics. I get great support from teh AHG team, being able to have communication,so, that I can ask questions when they arise, and I feel that AHG has done well in creating the environment for this to happen."
Additional Comments
"I started studying with AHG in 2005 with the Sports Therapy Course (Advanced level). The course structure gave me the time to study in advance whilst I did my other job and at the sametime being with my family in Belgium. The first part of the course included a home study package of books, assignments, and website access information.
During the practical weeks I was able to build on information that I had studied with the home study package, learn the hands on aspects of sports therapy, meet others in the industry. The final part of the course consisted of case studies this allowed me to further enhance my knowledge and confidence in the field of Sports Therapy.
I completely enjoyed my time studying with AHG and their support throughout that period and even to this present day we are always in contact about what additional courses I can attend. AHG has given me a great start in my career as a Sports Therapist and now as a Golf Therapist."
